Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime Speed Rules Change July 6, 2026: What You Need to Know

Amazon is raising the minimum delivery speed requirements for Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) offers. On July 6, 2026, the rules change. More SFP offers will need national one-day or two-day coverage instead of regional fast shipping. Lose the Prime badge and you lose Buy Box share and conversion lift.

Single-warehouse sellers are most exposed. If you ship from one coast and rely on ground transit for cross-country two-day coverage, you are at risk.

Why this matters

The Prime badge drives conversions. When you lose it, you lose Buy Box share and the conversion lift that comes with Prime eligibility. For a seller running £50,000 per month in SFP revenue, losing Prime on a hero ASIN can mean £5,000-10,000 in lost monthly sales.

Who is most at risk

– Single-warehouse SFP sellers on the East or West coast, relying on ground transit for cross-country two-day coverage
– Oversized and heavy categories where carrier surcharges push two-day costs above the new break-even per unit
– Brands running mixed FBA and SFP on the same ASIN, where Amazon’s promise engine already prefers FBA offers
– Weekend-light operations that do not ship Saturday, which the new speed metric calculation treats more strictly

What to do this week

1. Map your real two-day ZIP coverage now. Export 90 days of shipment data and see what percent actually delivered in two days. Anything below the new bar needs a second warehouse, a regional carrier, or a move to FBA.

2. Re-price your SFP offers against the new carrier mix. If you have to upgrade transit to keep Prime, your fully landed cost per order changes. Run the numbers before July 6, not after.

3. Use the new per-ZIP delivery promise tool in Seller Central. Default promises understate your real speed in nearby ZIPs and overstate it in far ones. The per-ZIP tool keeps the badge where you can deliver and removes it where you cannot.

4. Decide ASIN by ASIN which to keep on SFP. Some SKUs stay because they are heavy, hazmat or made-to-order. Others are on SFP for legacy reasons. Tag both groups now and prepare a clean SFP-to-FBA move list before Prime Day prep starts.

Key dates

– May 25, 2026: Amazon announces tighter SFP speed thresholds
– June 8, 2026: Grace period on speed metric calculations begins (roughly four weeks)
– July 6, 2026: New SFP delivery speed rules take effect

The bottom line

The SFP programme is not going away. The bar to keep the Prime badge is moving up. Sellers who model the new speed targets, re-price the offers that survive, and use the new delivery promise tool keep the badge through Prime Day. Sellers who wait for the July 6 cutover find out which ASINs they lost from the Buy Box report.
